Weird Foods That Other Countries Enjoy!

Food is that one thing in life that keeps us going. Have you ever heard of anyone who survived without food?

That is because it is a part of us. Not only human beings but every living thing survives on food whether be it plants, germs you name it they all depend on food to grow.

Weird food in the world

Whilst in some parts of the world some of the foods that they eat might be quite common to them. But that doesn’t mean that the rest of the world sees it that way. But with that being said it won’t mean that they will stop consuming those foods simply because the rest of the world sees them as yucky!

Let’s Get Down to It!

We will first bring it home! Aussies are known for eating witchetty Grub. This is a large whitish wood-eating larva of a beetle or moth. When lightly cooked the skin is to turn crisp like roasted chicken skin and then inside will look like scrambled eggs then you know it’s ready to be eaten. You think this is weird? Wait until you hear this! The witchetty grub can be eaten raw only if it tastes like almonds.

Things are really about to get spooky! Whilst you are busy killing tarantulas in your homes did you know that you are wasting precious food for the Khmer people? In Cambodia spiders that are marinated in salt and sugar and fried in garlic are a delicate. Apparently, they prefer these to grasshoppers because spiders have more meat.

Okay, aren’t people taking it a little bit too far? Stink bugs as a flavouring for dishes? I don’t think so, but what do I know Africans seem to think otherwise. When boiled or eaten raw they are being said to taste like little apples! Yep, you heard that right.

Just because we are a little different from each other it doesn’t mean that the other bunch is not equally important. But these differences and diverse behaviors make people come together and become one, that is the power that food has on people.
