Omaha Betting Limits

There are rules of betting that you need to know before you play the game. There are what are called blind, these are forced bets.

If you have played any variation of stud Poker you have placed a bet called an “ante”, this is a small bet that all players must make so that they can get into the game.

For you to be dealt a hand, you have to have placed an ante bet in other Poker variations. However with Omaha, you have to place bets called “blinds” instead of “ante” bets.

A blind is placed only when it is your turn. The blinds rotates around the table. There are normally two types blinds, these are the small blinds and the big blinds.

The betting limits of the game usually determine blind amounts. The betting limits are usually in a ratio of 1 to 2.

How to Play Omaha

Usually you play the game with eight or nine other players, this is the best game you can play. of course you can play with more players because it is a community card game.

There are two formats that often played in Omaha games, these are high-low or just high. Other people also play lo, but that is not common.

Well when you play the high format, the player with the highest ranked Poker hand wins the pot.

In high-low, the player that has highest ranked Poker hand wins half the pot. Also in high-low, the player with the low ranking hand wins half the hand. if you are able to hold both, you will win the whole pot
