Age: Older People Need to Stay Hydrated

Your age determines how much water you should drink. According to experts, an average adult should drink about 2 litres of water. If you are an average adult, you should be hydrated if you drink this amount of water. If you are a senior, you however need more water for you to stay hydrated. If you stay with an elderly person, you should remind them to drink a lot of water because elderly people tend to forget to drink water sometimes. Also, it is important to note that there is need for elderly people to avoid being over hydrated.

Environment

The environment that you live in also plays a part in determining the amount of water that you should drink. If you live in a hot area, you should drink more water than usual, this is because you will be more dehydrated than those people who live in climates that are cold.

Health Conditions

There are some health conditions that may require you to drink more water than usual. This is because these conditions will make you lose more water. Conditions such as diarrhea and vomiting may be the cause of loose of water. This means you will need to drink more water than you usually drink for you to stay dehydrated.  There are other conditions that may require you to drink more water than usual and also there are conditions that may require you to reduce the amount of water that you take. A good example of a condition that may require you to reduce intake of water is a form of kidney disease.  the disease may mean that your kidney will not be able to drain water from the body.
