The History behind Black Friday

People are patiently waiting for the event to start. I mean who doesn’t like black Friday. But now as we were waiting for it, we take the opportunity to get to know where this thing they call black Friday originated from.

How that name come about. Believe it or not but in most continents, people are all excited. Without wasting much of your time with our mumbling let’s get into it. Keep on reading and see the dark cloud that is over that name Black Friday.

The true story behind black Friday

First and foremost this was one of the most depressing days for industrialist’ record of all times. This is a day that is after Thanksgiving. So here is what happened.

Jay Gould and Jim Fisk thought of the most possible way ever to make profits. So what they did or rather their plan was to buy all the gold in the market. And then they would sell that gold with higher rates and they would get all the profits.

The darkest moment in the industry. No one saw it coming. But the trade market dropped with 20% percent and basic commodities went up with 50%. Imagine what it was like. Everything was put on a hold including foreign trade.

The previous day it was Thanksgiving and the next day it was an Army-Navy game. Huge masses of came to shop and the police had to control the people. At that time they decided to call it big Friday but the name did not stick. Instead, people preferred to use the term Black Friday.

Now the day is the most amazing shopping day ever. Prices are cut to a certain percentage that is removed. It is somewhat ironic from what actually took place on an actual day right? But today we enjoy black Friday.
