Family or Friends?

Often in life people are caught between the choice of having to pick between friends or family. Sometimes family can be your worst nightmare. Probably because they take you for granted because they know that no matter how much we cut ties family will always be family. Unlike friends who put in the work so as to try and maintain that position of being called a friend.

That even makes it a greater advantage for us. Because you have a choice. Choosing someone means that you like them and you know that you will get along.

Companions are always there when we need them. One can say that it is their duty to do so. But also in good times, they are meant to share their laughs with you and vice-versa, that is what we call being a friend. They are meant to have your back at all times whether facing family issues or other issues they are meant to protect you at all times.

Family

The family is something that you are born into. You really don’t have a choice as to you picking them or not. On the other hand, the family is also supposed to act as friends do and have the same attributes as friends.

But we really don’t think that people can and should try separate the two. In as much as we need family, we also need friends. People should strike a balance.
