Disinfect your phone because life without your device can become impossible. Smartphones carry a lot of things besides being communication devices. Because you carry your cell phone everywhere you go, you may place it on a surface that has germs.

Our hands also come into contact with thousands of germs each and every day.  Here we shall look at ways to regularly clean and disinfect your smartphone as well as other devices.

How to Disinfect Your Phone while Avoiding Damages

Cleaning your phone with disinfectants that contain bleach or hydroperoxide can damage your phone. Watery things can really damage your phone so you will have to use isopropyl alcohol at a concentration of 70%.

The alcohol will not damage your phone as it will evaporate quickly before it damages your phone. You can also use it on other devices that can get damaged by water.

Here are the cleaners that you can use

  • 70% isopropyl wipes
  • Clorox disinfecting wipes
  • Lint-free cloths sprayed lightly in alcohol

Cleaning Instructions

Do not clean your device while it is connected to a power source. Also, do not use bleach and hand sanitizer as liquids may damage your phone.

You should only use lint-free cloths clean your phone.  Cloths that include fluffy microfiber cloths, cotton balls and cotton rounds can damage your phone and make cleaning difficult. You should contact the manufacturer if you are not sure about the materials used to manufacture your phone. This is because alcohol only works on hard surfaces, if your phone has a leather or any soft surfaces, cleaning it with alcohol is not recommended.

Do not spray alcohol directly into the screen of your phone as this may damage it. spray the alcohol onto a cloth and then clean the phone using the cloth.

Take off the case of your phone and clean all the edges and sides of the phone. Also, clean the case separately. Let the case and the phone dry first before putting back the case.
