Visuals play an important role in our life and they are triggered by various things including colors. For the past thousands of years, each person may have developed a strong emotional association with specific colors. Pigmentation have the ability to make or break any day. Effects of color play a vital role as they create different moods and activate a strong emotional response. It is always important to take note of colors around us because reactions can be pushed through just by a certain color.

According to color psychology, each person has got negative and positive associations in different colors. In the 1960s Alexander Schauss carried out an experiment with the color pink.  He painted different prison cells with the color pink and observed that prisoners became less aggressive, their heart rate and their blood pressure become low after some time of looking at the pink walls. Psychologists have adopted this technique to try and help patients suffering from depression and anxiety. Warmer colors have an uplifting element whilst cooler once project a calming effect.

How to introduce the science of colors in your home

Now that you have some knowledge over the effects of color you can try and incorporate some  pigmentation in tour home. You can start by painting your walls with a different color. But you have to bear in mind that shades speak to different individuals differently. So if you decide to paint your rooms, first take note of the function of the room and paint it according to the emotions you desire to evoke. For instance, the color red signifies energy and inspiration, you can therefore not use this color in your bedroom because you go in there to sleep and rest. So there must be a correlation between the color and the emotions you seek to trigger.
