Types of Blackjack differs depending on which game you choose to play. Blackjack which is derived from 21 has become popular among the Americans. Blackjack is played around the world and is popular because of its low edge advantage. However, there are four different types of blackjack that we will look at in this article.

Perfect Pairs

Perfect pairs are played around the world. Perfect pairs are played like blackjack. However, the only difference is that it uses side bets which is a disadvantage to blackjack players.

Pontoon is Another Blackjack Type

This can be played without a dealer. The player who draws the jack will become the banker and automatically will be the dealer. The combination of an ace and the face of a card is known as Pontoon.

European blackjack

This evolved from the American blackjack. European blackjack is played with 6 decks whereas American blackjack is played with 8 decks. European blackjack doesn’t allow the dealer to check for blackjack if his face card is an ace which is different from Spanish 21.

Another Common Type of Blackjack is Spanish 21

Spanish 21 and blackjack are similar when it comes to dealership. The dealer will be dealing with 2 cards. However, the difference is that in Spanish 21 the dealer is allowed to check for blackjack unlike in blackjack. The game payout for Spanish 21 is 3:2.

Conclusion

The different types of blackjack depend on the way in which the people accepted it in their country. Although it is known as blackjack it is played differently and some of the games don’t have a low house edge.

Games such as Spanish 21 have side bets which makes it hard for the game to be played and the player is most likely to lose. These are not the only types of blackjack they are many depending on where and how it is played
