Gambling has been there for centuries. Now, you get to experience a modified and fun version of this game.  And, through the process, there are a lot of people who have cracked codes and broken records to give gamblers a better experience. Here are some of the names that changed the world of gambling forever.

Edward Thorpe

Thorpe was one of the first professional gamblers who made his fortune from poker. He is also known as the mastermind behind the foundation of the modern-day poker boom. When he started off, he used to play cards at just about every place where he went; it didn’t matter if it was the saloon or the hotel room. In 1858, after winning over $100,000 at Poker games, Thorpe decided to leave his job and go full-time into gambling.

It wasn’t until he got $300 in his bank account that he decided to quit school and became an independent gambler. Bill Benter won more than $1 million gambling while playing poker with his friends from his club. But, it wasn’t enough money to buy him a house. He still lived on the Upper East Side in apartments. His business grew in popularity and eventually, he had to move out of the city entirely. He moved to Atlantic City and opened up “The Casino” which became the home base for many other high rollers.

Benny Binion

This man is credited for creating Las Vegas. He also created the Horseshoe casino in 1921. It may seem like a big deal but if we were talking about the history of casinos, his would be near the top of the list. This casino has grown into a major player in the online gambling industry. Even though it’s not an actual casino anymore (it is now owned by MGM), it’s still going strong.
